A lovely pub on the South Green of the village looking out over the green itself. Plenty of parking available and seating outside to take advantage of the good weather. There is a bar and restaurant serving Sunday lunches. It’s a good idea to book in advance. The bar is not huge but will hold plenty of people sitting at tables with comfy seating. There are a range of beers and lagers and it is nice to see a number of real ales on tap. On this visit there were Oakham Ales Bishops Farewell, Youngs Special and Gold along with Bombardier representing the Real Ales. The beer was presented at a good temperature and had all the flavour and texture you would expect from a good pint. The staff and customers have also been busy raising funds for various charities including Help For Heroes.
At the back you will find nine Petanque pitches and you will soon be made aware the game is very popular in this village. There are pitches all over the village for when they hold the international championships.
